Vintage Japan Chicken Figurines Mr. Rooster & Mrs. Hen in Formal Fancy Dress

The Chickens are all decked out for a wonderful evening on the town! Don't you love how their tail feathers appear in the back of their lovely attire? What a charming couple! Both figurines stand about 4" tall and are 2-1/4" wide. The bottom of each is marked in red: MADE IN JAPAN. Made of glazed china, the pair is in very good condition, especially for 50+ years old! She has some small dark marks on her beak, and he has a few small spots of paint wear on his jacket. They are a fun and unusual pair!

Yes, Mr. Rooster & Mrs. Hen (a.k.a. the Chickens) are all decked out and ready for a night on the town ... well, he's more than ready, but perhaps I should let them tell you their story!

Mrs.: Dah-lings! I can't tell you how thrilled we are!! Don't you adore my gown?

Mrs.: The little touches of green are just too-too chic, and the pink ruffle at  my neckline is to die for!

Mr.: My dear, you look marvelous. Get in the car.

Mrs.: I got the bag just for this evening!

Mr.: My dear, you ... wait ... you bought a new bag?? I thought ... for cryin' ... never mind. Get in the car!

Mrs.: My little gilt gold bracelet and necklace are new, too. Don't you just love a touch of sparkle with a new gown?!

Mr.: Jewelry, too?!? How much? How much did you spend ... my love??? Get in the car.

Mrs.: But darling, you look so resplendent in your tuxedo! Nothing I had would have done you justice. Your beautiful black coat, your bow tie with the gilt touches, and those trousers! Tres chic! I adore the blue hash mark pattern. I'm sure the fabric was woven in Paris!

Mr.: We'll talk about budgetary concerns tomorrow, my dear. Just get in the car now. Please??

Yes, Mr. & Mrs. Chicken will have a wonderful evening ... if he can forget about her recent expenditures!
