Vintage Japan Small Teddy Bear Planter Yellow & Blue with Pink Ribbon

This little planter is the perfect touch for a baby's room -- one that won't take up a lot of space among all the baby supplies! He's just 4-3/4" wide, 1-3/4" deep and 3" tall to the top of the teddy's ear. The bottom of the piece is marked "JAPAN" in black.

This teddy has adopted a relaxed pose. Reminiscent of a plush stuffed animal, he's resting on his back haunches and is stretched out to lean on his front paws. His body is a pretty shade of baby blue with yellow arms and legs. His legs, arms and the center of his head are outlined with brown. He has black-dot eyes and a little pink mouth. He has a floppy-looking pink bow around his neck. The opening for the planter is in the middle of his back; it's just the right size for a small houseplant, a little succulent or a small floral arrangement.

The teddy is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or flea bites. There are a few tiny bumps on the surface of the planter, especially on the underneath side (see photos), but they are under the glaze and most likely happened during the manufacturing process.

If you don't fancy a planter or vase, this would be a great container for a few Q-tips or cotton balls, along with a spot for those little nail clippers that are so hard to keep track of. Such a sweet little something for a sweet little someone!
