This physician will be providing psychiatric/medical care for adult female/male populations (ages 18 and up).  The physician must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the Medical Staff Bylaws.  The physician will abide by the mission statement of Larned State Hospital and will provide quality patient care at all times.  Psychiatric and medical care is provided to all LSH patients during O.D. duty and when covering other areas of LSH. 

Special Requirements:    MD Degree.  Kansas Licensure or Institutional License.  MANDT and CPR/AED Certification.  Some positions require an approved drug test unless the incumbent is moving from one safety-sensitive position to another safety- sensitive position within the same agency performing substantially similar duties.

Physical Characteristics of the Job as they relate to essential functions:   The work requires light to moderate physical exertion.  The individual may be required to assist with lifting or moving patients or objects that may weigh 50 pounds, on an occasional basis.  The employee will be required to go to different Units on Campus when doing OD duty, being exposed to unpredictable weather.
