Description

High Plains Mental Health Center, a Comprehensive Community Mental Health Center, currently has a full time position opening for a Qualified Mental Health Professional/Outpatient Floater in our Hays Office. High Plains serves 20 counties in Northwest Kansas and has five Branch offices located in Colby, Goodland, Norton, Osborne, and Phillipsburg. The qualified candidate will provide comprehensive psychological evaluations, individual psychotherapy, and counseling.

Job Qualifications:

Masters or doctoral degree with Kansas BSRB license as a –

  • Licensed Psychologist or Licensed Master Level Psychologist or Licensed Clinical Psychotherapist or
  • Licensed Master Social Worker (clinical track) or
  • Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker or
  • Licensed Professional Counselor or Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with a mental health training track or equivalent mental health experience.
  • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist or Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapist.
  • Must also possess demonstrated interpersonal skills, ability to work with persons with severe and persistent mental illness and/or severe emotional disturbance, and the ability to react effectively in a wide variety of human service situations.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides psychotherapy and counseling to patients on an individual, marital, family, and/or group therapy basis in accordance with annual service hour expectations.
  • Performs collaboration and other necessary case management work on patients assigned to him/her. 
  • Travel to Branch Offices, Outreach Offices or provide services via TVC as needed.  These assignments will be made by their direct supervisor.
  • Completes timely clinical and administrative reports and documents as required by Center policies and procedures and in accordance with compliance expectations.
  • Meets compliance expectation for attending scheduled individual supervisory sessions and group supervision.  Requests and receives clinical supervision from the assigned supervisor where the service is provided. Attends scheduled staff meetings as directed by assigned supervisor(s). 
  • Will work a minimum of one evening per week.
  • Employees in this position are required to complete the licensure/certification and recertification process to provide SUD services as well as MH services on a timely basis, and in accordance with BSRB regulations.

Applicants should possess a valid Kansas driver’s license and a good driving record with no alcohol related incidents within the last five years. Must also be able to successfully pass an intensive background check including KBI, SRS Child/Adult abuse check, and a drug and alcohol screen.
