CONDITION: An attractive antique gun in remarkably good shape for its age! It's had some minor scratches, and the metal finish is getting thin from wear, but it looks nice, overall. Definitely a great collector's piece, and a sound functional weapon that has been preserved and well-maintained in a private collection.

HISTORY: The Model 1890 was the first slide-action Winchester rifle. Designed by John and Mathew Browning, it was chambered for .22 short, long, and Rimfire, but not interchangeably. (It will only feed the specific round stamped on the barrel.) It is top-ejecting with an 18 inch magazine tube under the barrel.
The model proved to be Winchester's most successful repeating rim fire rifle for general all around use. For many years, it was considered to be the standard for use in shooting galleries, hence its nickname of "gallery gun." The Model 1890 was produced from 1890 until 1932 with over 800,000 sold.
