The Trego County Sheriff’s Office is taking applications for full time Detention Officer Position.  Duties will include, but not limited to, serving meals, administering inmate medication, collecting and doing laundry, and occasional inmate transports to and from other facilities and court.

Salary is dependent on any previous Detention Officer experience or other qualifying experience and education in related field.  Benefits include fully paid single plan health insurance, and KPERS retirement.  Pre-employment drug testing is required.

Minimum qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED

• Undergo applicable background checks
• Kansas Driver’s License

• Must be 18 years of age

• Must be able to act without direct supervision and exercise independent judgment

• No Felony convictions or disqualifying criminal history
