Personal Assistant Needed

Adult male with disability needs Personal Assistant for daily living skills, including home and recreational activities.  This person(s) must understand the importance of meeting the individual’s needs, while helping maintain a high quality of life. Looking for a committed individual who has impeccable communication skills and ability to problem solve. Must be a pleasant and supportive companion while assisting with Activities of Daily Living to include personal cares, transportation to and from work as well as speech therapy, physical therapy, as well as community outings, and housework when needed.

This individual is very self-sufficient in many ways, but will require some assistance.  There is no heavy lifting.  The only medical equipment used is a nebulizer/inhaler(s) for asthma.  Very upbeat, outgoing individual who loves to be in the community when not working, or playing video games!

Hours of work would be Monday-Wednesday-Friday from 7:50 to 5:15 (approximately – time for his mother to get to and from work), with a break from 1:00 to 3:00 while he is at work.  Tuesday and Thursday hours would be 7:50 to 5:15, with lunch break 12:00 to 1:00.  Some occasional evening work, and one Sunday afternoon every six months.  These hours will be explained more during a personal interview.

Applicant must be 16 years of age, able to pass a background check, and have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.  Paying wage is $9.80 an hour.
