Current KS Respiratory Therapist Licensure
Current Credentials from NBRC
Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Respiratory Therapy
Position Overview
Under the supervision of the Physician the Respiratory Therapist is responsible for providing care services in accordance with specific physician’s orders, department policies and procedures. Maintains performance improvement activities within the department and participates in quality improvement activities. Assists in formulating budget.
Job Functions
Ability to assess patient needs and the ability to tolerate treatment and reassessment for response to treatment.
Ability to read physician’s orders, measure and draw arterial blood gases, review patient information and determine requirements for treatment.
Formulates a teaching plan based on identified learning needs of the patient and evaluates effectiveness of learning; patient’s family is included in teaching as appropriate.
Documents all pertinent data on the patient’s medical record following completion of any service.
