Description

This is for an almost complete 100 year old football uniform. It consist of the leather helmet, shoulder pads, pants, high top socks, and pictures of the original owner. The period jersey as added to complete the uniform. It cam from an estate in the Ohio Valley and dates from 1918 to 1922. This uniform belonged to Chas "Duke" Freese who played football for Triadelphia High School (West Virginia) in 1918, Tennessee Military Institute from 1919-1921, and West Virginia University (Freshman team) in 1922. Very, very seldom can the authenticity of complete football uniforms be shown. Mr. Freese wrote in ink on the pants the offensive players that played with him, their positions, and final scores of the games. On the helmet is listed further information in ink about the three teams he played for wearing the uniform. Besides the items mentioned above, I am including a pair of football cleats from about the same era.. I originally had the items sitting on two old wooden seats that came from a stadium from the same time period (also for sale on Craigslist) next to modern collegiate pads to show the difference in uniforms and protection through the years. Only $550 for the uniform - where else could you find such a complete and authenticated set? I am including much additional printed historical information about the uniform. Please check out the other football items I currently have on NexTech under sporting goods. Respond to this listing with name, phone number, and email (to prevent SPAM) and I will contact you. Thanks for looking.
