The Kansas Department of Transportation is currently hiring an Accountant I at the Norton district office. Salary begins at $17.39 per hour, depending on experience and/or skill level of applicant.

Job duties include maintaining, reviewing and reconciling the district’s financial records; helping establish and develop accounting procedures, budget and fiscal control policies and procedures; and overseeing inventory accounting and maintaining inventory records; This position also audits purchase orders, travel expense reports, vouchers and procurement card activities for proper purchasing procedures. One year of experience in professional accounting/auditing work required; education may be substituted for experience as deemed relevant by the agency.
