Gove County Medical Center has an immediate opening for a full time Infection Prevention(IP)/Employee Health RN. This position will be split between acute and long term care with a minimum of 20 hours per week serving as the long term care Infection Prevention nurse. The IP nurse assists the Directors of Nursing and the Emergency Preparedness Director with the overall Infection Control/Employee Health Programs including surveillance, reporting and regulatory preparedness. He/She will assess, plan, organize, develop, implement and evaluate the infection control and employee health programs and their activities in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations.

Education & Experience:
•Minimum nursing degree from an accredited school or nursing.
•Must have a minimum of two (2) years clinical experience in an acute hospital or other related healthcare facility.
•Must possess a working knowledge of epidemiology, microbiology, infectious disease, and aseptic technique to include standard/universal precautions.
•Current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Kansas.
•APIC Certification in infection control preferred, but not necessary
•Certification in Infection Control (CIC), if not currently certified must be ready to test within 6 months to 1 year.
