Norton County Hospital has a full-time career opportunity for a Medical Laboratory Manager.  Applicant must be an MT or MLT with an ASCP certification and prefer 5 years of laboratory experience or equivalent.  The Laboratory Manager is responsible for all operation in the hospital’s laboratory, assuring high quality services are provided to patients and medical staff at all times.  Some of the primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assures the laboratory meets all CLIA requirements

  • Performs chemical, biological and microscopic tests to provide data for use in treatment and diagnosis of disease.

  • Receives specimens for lab or obtains specimens directly from patient and makes quantitative and qualitative chemical analyses.

  • Prepares monthly statistics and quality assurance data.

  • Trains, supervises and evaluates performance of lab staff.

  • Evaluates quality control and modifies manuals and policies as needed.

  • Develops budget for the laboratory and maintains control of lab costs.

  • Enforces safety procedures and consults with other supervisors.

  • Plans work load distribution and makes schedules.

  • Supervises purchase of supplies and maintains equipment inventory.

This position participates in the on-call coverage schedule to provide 24/7 care for our patients.  Applicant should be caring, committed, and motivated to provide quality patient care with excellent communication and computer skills.  Our benefit package includes paid vacation, sick days, holidays, health insurance, and KPERS retirement, life insurance, and disability.
