Accounting Manager:

Do you enjoy challenging tax & accounting work and the opportunity to influence others? Are you interested in executive level work and that involves key decision makers? Pertl Ranch Feeders is hiring an hourly Accounting Manager covering our Hays and Lucas, KS locations. A successful candidate for the position will be self-driven, be able to communicate effectively, and poses great time management skills. The Accounting Manager will handle month and year end ledgers, inventory records, payroll, and general ledgers for two entities.

Help us strategically grow our business as you assess tax impact, develop tax arguments, and make tax planning recommendations. Stay current with accounts receivable and payable. Use QuickBooks to generate employee payroll and monthly P/L reports. This role will provide you with an opportunity to challenge the status quo and make a real difference as you may manage people, projects, and customers. Beyond overseeing the risk and financial performance of engagements, you will also help to lead a future team of accounting professionals committed to developing creative ideas and delivering quality reports.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• Minimum 5 years of relevant prior experience; Public Accounting experience preferred
• Experience with enterprise accounting systems; Quickbooks preferred
• Strong analytical, problem solving, management and communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Basic agriculture and beef industry knowledge
• CPA license, preferred
• Experience in financial reporting, and proficiency in the taxation of individuals, corporations, consolidated entities, partnerships, and other entities
• An interest in leading and mentoring other team members
• Demonstrated success in preparing more complex tax and accounting reporting

• Feedyard accounting (A/P, A/R, Payroll, Cattle & Grain transactions)
• New Business Development experience
• Technical training abilities

Reports to:
The Operations Manager will train the accounting manager. This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer for all financial and tax reporting. This position also works closely with the business owners as needed. Management of some staff with training and development may occur with future business growth. The accounting manager also works closely with other yard managers.
