Husky Hogs, LLC swine facilities of Long Island, KS is seeking a full-time Assistant Farrowing Manager to join our team. The Farrowing Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily projects and staff members, to ensure quality health of the piglets. The sow farm is 14,000 sows; we are looking for someone with extensive farrowing experience.

This position will join the current farrowing and breeding teams, including the Farrowing and Breeding Managers, and will oversee the Weaning and Day 1 Care teams. Job duties include, but are not limited to, overseeing and assisting with the below projects:

·        Ensuring all animals have feed, air and water.

·        Move and sort animals as needed/assist in shipping animals from sow site to nursery sites.

·        Examine animals in order to detect symptoms of illness or injury.

·        Administer necessary vaccines for sows and piglets to boost immunity and ensure health.

·        Use controls to maintain specific building environments required for animal health and safety.

·        Maintain a high level of cleanliness in all work areas.

·        Maintain records to document daily animal observation, treatments given, vaccinations, feed consumption, daily projects completed, etc.

Position requirements:

·        Taking no less than two showers daily (at the facility – all products for showering are company-provided).

·        Lifting 15+ pounds, repeatedly, for several hours throughout the day.

·        Lift up-to 50 pounds.

·        Standing on hard floors for several hours at a time.

·        Kneeling, squatting, and bending repeatedly.

·        Pre-employment drug and alcohol screening, and random screening throughout employment.

·        Pre-employment background check.
