Description

As the 30th Anniversary Year for the Post Rock Opportunities Foundation keeps rolling along so do the events and promotions.  On July 27th during the Annual Czech Festival, the Foundation will be adding to the Czech Fest activities by displaying the first of a series of Wizard of Oz sculptures.  Built by Christian J. Leiker of Hays and donated by his family, the sculptures will be added to the attractions found at Kansas Originals Market & Gallery.  Wizard of Oz items will be featured including fused-glass pieces by Jim Rice, tin-men made by Mark Dolezal, Dorothy dolls by Lois Hawk and Oz pillows and towels from Sarah Steele.

Brenda and Mitch Taylor and Lynn Chestnut, guest artists for the event, will be on hand to talk about their work.  Brenda makes cutlery jewelry and Mitch makes barn-wood originals including crosses, mirrors and artwork.  Lynn Chestnut is well-known for his five-foot wooden trains and large wood trucks and cars.

Our Czech Fest event will include wine-tasting in the Smoky Hill Vineyards and Winery tasting room and our Wickedly Good Coffee Shop will offer our Smoky Turkey Wrap, bierocks, kolaches, Cherry Danish  and other baked goods.  Food sampling with be available for our Kansas Wizard of Oz food products and other favorites and there will be live music.
