Colby Community College is accepting applications for a contracted part-time Adult Education Navigator/Instructor for August 2019 through June 2020.

The Adult Education Instructor position is for 20-24 hours per week, which includes prep and administrative time. The class location could be in Colby, and/or Goodland as determined by student need.

The Adult Education Navigator/Instructor provides educational and career pathway services to qualifying adults.  The individual reports to the Director of Adult Education. As part of a grant-funded program, all positions are dependent upon continued funding from year-to-year.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintains all required credentials and certifications;
  • Conducts the adopted intake process for all students;
  • Pre and post-tests students; collects all demographic data required on students;
  • Maintains and updates file on each student including goals, testing records, educational plan, career plan;
  • Provides instruction in adult education prep at designated site(s) and times;
  • Maintains and submits accurate weekly attendance;
  • Teaches, completes necessary paper work and/or actively works with students and or partners to fulfill employment hourly requirements;
  • Actively recruits adult students in the local program;
  • Takes action to monitor those students not attending;
  • Participates in essential professional development;
  • Fulfills other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or college administrators.
     

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in any area
  • Passion for assisting adults ages 16 and up in continued education and entry into careers
  • Able to meet with partners in the community and establish new relationships

SALARY

$15-18 per hour, depending on experience, education, and qualifications. This is a contracted, part-time position with no benefits package.

Hours are negotiable, 22-24 hours per week. Start date in the fall semester is negotiable.

  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations of students, staff, faculty, alumni and friends of the college
  • Ability to work independently as well as with a team
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail
  • Willing to attend necessary professional development (often online)
