The picture was taken from the combine while harvesting this rye seed. The left side is a wheat buffer strip that was planted in the same field adjacent to the rye. Neither crop had residual chemical applied. You can see the marestail and pigweeds in the wheat and how clean the rye field is. We have experienced very good weed suppression using rye as a cover crop.
