Feedyard Mill Lead Operator
Neosho Valley Feeders
Neosho Valley Feeders, a commercial Feedyard located in Parsons, KS, is currently seeking applicants for a full-time Mill Lead Operator position in a newer modern mill.
Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Models safe work practices and complies with all applicable safety rules and policies
- Produces a consistent flake ration by adding water, steaming, and rolling grain
- Monitors flake quality by sampling and properly recording moisture and density at regular intervals
- Dry rolls grain on an as needed basis
- Responsible for the security and inventory management of the micro ingredients. This includes entering micro ingredients into the batching system and daily comparisons of theoretical and actual micro ingredient usage. Responsible to immediately report unreasonable discrepancies to Feed and Mill Manager.
- Monitors mill equipment including: steam chest, belts, bearings, motors, boiler, grain bins, conveyors, micro machine, and mixer. Makes repairs as needed. Reports necessary needed repairs (too large for one person) to Feed and Mill Manager
- Performs preventative maintenance by utilizing PM schedule and carrying out maintenance tasks
- Maintains maintenance records by documenting observations, work performed, and parts used
- Responsible for daily housekeeping including: cleaning, sweeping, mopping, dusting and organizing mill work areas
- Collects samples and test flakes and finished feed samples to ensure consistency; may collect samples for lab analysis
- Complies with applicable OSHA, FDA and EPA regulations; maintains appropriate compliance records

to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events; exhibit sound and accurate judgement; prioritize and
plan work activities; observe safety and security procedures; and report potentially unsafe conditions.
Qualified candidates for this position will possess the following:
- Prior experience in the agriculture industry is preferred, but not required
- Ability to operate a variety of heavy equipment
- A positive, team-work attitude and excellent work ethic
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- A Valid Driver's License
